The first International Medical Student Congress (CIMSC) was held on April 26–27, 2025, hosting a total of 1,612 participants. The two-day congress commenced with opening remarks by Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Selçuk Bayraktar, and was supported by leading academics and experts from the healthcare community.
As part of the congress, 20 scientific sessions were organized, covering a wide range of topics including medicine, biotechnology, artificial intelligence applications, ethics, health policies, and current clinical approaches. Participants actively engaged in knowledge exchange during these sessions led by distinguished speakers.
In addition to the scientific sessions, six practical training courses were successfully conducted. These included the Basic Ultrasound Training Course, the Cardiovascular Surgery 101 Course titled “First Touch to a Beating Heart,” the Next-Generation Drug Development Course, the Emergency Medicine and Lethal Arrhythmias Course, as well as workshops on Medical Illustration and Medical Photography, all of which attracted significant interest.
The congress also featured student presentations, providing medical students with the opportunity to present their research, gain academic experience, and enhance their scientific communication skills. These presentations contributed to the interactive nature of the congress and boosted participants’ academic motivation.
Aiming to enhance the scientific competencies of future physicians, support interdisciplinary thinking, and encourage the establishment of national and international academic networks, CIMSC achieved remarkable success in its inaugural year with its high participation and rich program content.
