The International Medical Student Congress (CIMSC), organized by Cansağlığı Foundation in cooperation with Haliç University, was held on the Haliç University campus on April 26-27, 2025. The congress, which was attended by a large number of medical students from Turkey and around the world, attracted attention with its scientific content and bringing together leading names in the field.
The opening speeches of the congress were made by Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cansağlığı Foundation, Haliç University Rector Prof. Dr. Nihat İnanç and Mehmet Ali Nart, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation. In his speech, Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar shared with the participants the purpose of the foundation and its goals to increase social awareness in the field of health. At the same time, Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar was awarded an honorary doctorate by Haliç University for his scientific and social contributions.
During the two-day congress, many presentations and panels were held on current and developing fields of medicine such as genetics, oncology, neurosurgery, artificial intelligence, pharmacogenetics and surgery. World-renowned academics such as Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil from Harvard University, Prof. Dr. Tayfun Özçelik from Bilkent University and Nobel Prize-winning scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar also contributed to the congress.
Workshops organized within the scope of the congress also attracted great interest from the participants. Workshops such as “First Touch of Living Rhythm”, “Emergency Medicine and Fatal Arrhythmias” and “Medical Illustration” aimed to provide medical students with both technical and creative skills. Participants had the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical courses.
This international congress, organized under the leadership of the Cansağlığı Foundation, aimed to contribute to the scientific development of young physician candidates, while at the same time creating a global awareness and spirit of solidarity in the field of health.
